The Friends of Operation BobbiBear is an Australian based charity and supporter of 'Operation BobbiBear', a South African Organisation.

Friends of Operation BobbiBear are Australians assisting in providing a nurturing home and loving care for the children rescued by Operation BobbiBear in South Africa.

Mission Statement:

Our Mission is to provide continued support for the children of 'Operation BobbiBear' in South Africa.

Our aim is to make an enduring difference for the Operation BobbiBear organisation which was founded in 1992 by the extraordinary Jackie Branfield and her team of "Rough Aunties".

They need our support and the support from the global community to continue helping these children.

Every 3 minutes a child is raped in South Africa.

It is estimated that less than ten per cent of all sexual assaults on children are reported to the authorities. The number of reported cases of child sex abuse has increased by 400% over the past 8 - 9 years. There is a severe shortage of support and care facilities in South Africa to cope with this epidemic. Operation BobbiBear was founded in 1992 by Jackie Bramfield to support, rescue and protect children from rape and sexual abuse. You can do something to help these children by donating or joining our team of volunteers here in Australia at Friends of Operation BobbiBear.
